DETERMINING WHAT MAKES A NICHE BLOG
A niche blog is a highly focused blog. All content and conversations on a niche blog are centered on a single, specific subject.

RESEARCHING EXISTING NICHE BLOGS
You can research existing blogs with the following sources:
. Technorati search.
. Google blog search.
. Google Alerts that provides a way to keep track of what’s being published online related to your niche blog topic. When you set up a Google Alert for
a specific search term, you receive an email notifying you (at the times you choose) when new content is published online with that search term.
To set up your own Google Alert, follow these steps:
1. Visit Google Alerts at www.google.com/alerts. The Google Alerts page appears.
2. Enter your search term in the search terms text box. This step tells Google Alerts that you want to be notified anytime a blog or website uses that search term.
3. From the Type drop-down list, select the comprehensive option. This step configures your alert to notify you of all results from multiple sources (news,
web, blogs, video, and Google groups) rather than just specific types of results.
4. Using the How Often drop-down list, specify how often you want to receive updates. You can choose to receive updates as they happen, once per day,
or once per week.
5. Enter your email address in the Your Email field. The email address you enter in this box is where your Google alerts are sent.
